We love shooting watches — and it shows

Watches are among the hardest products to photograph well: mirror-polished cases, anti-reflective sapphire, fine guilloché, lume, and dials that have to stay perfectly legible. It takes specialist lighting, real patience and a lot of craft — which is exactly why we love it. We’ve spent years learning how to make a watch look as considered on screen as it does on the wrist.

The hard part

Every surface is a different problem

What makes watches hard

  • Mirror-polished cases & reflections
  • Anti-reflective sapphire glare
  • Dial legibility & true colour
  • Wafer-thin depth of field in macro

How we handle it

  • Tented, gradient-controlled lighting
  • Focus-stacking for front-to-back sharpness
  • Calibrated colour for true dials
  • Patience — a single piece can take hours

Watch photography FAQs

Do you work with watch brands and makers across the UK?

Yes — we work with watchmakers right across the UK. Most clients send their pieces to our Bristol studio by insured courier; we shoot, retouch and return them. You’re also very welcome to visit and direct in person.

How do you deal with reflections and glare on cases and crystals?

Reflection control is the heart of watch photography. We use tented and gradient lighting, polarisation and careful angles to kill distracting glare on polished metal and sapphire while keeping the surfaces looking alive and three-dimensional.

Can you photograph movements and fine macro detail?

Absolutely. We focus-stack macro shots so movements, engraving, guilloché and lume are sharp from front to back — the detail that sells a watch.

Do you handle high-value and limited pieces securely?

Yes. We’re insured, security-conscious and experienced with valuable and one-off timepieces. Your watches are handled with white gloves, literally.

Can you keep a whole collection looking consistent?

Yes — repeatable lighting and calibrated colour mean every reference in a collection matches, which matters hugely for ecommerce and catalogues.

Do you offer 360° spins and on-wrist lifestyle shots?

We do — interactive 360° spins so customers can explore a piece from every angle, plus lifestyle and on-wrist context photography.

How much does watch photography cost?

It depends on the number of pieces, the shot types and the level of macro detail. Tell us about your collection and we’ll put together a tailored quote.
